Your Hopes and Dreams are Important

Your hopes and dreams are important. Sure, maybe they seem improbable or even impossible at times, but if you can't shake the idea that you are meant for bigger and better things, then it might be time to take the next step on your journey.
If you dream about changing your job, the first step is easy: allow yourself to dream! "Dreaming" is another word for envisioning. If you can't imagine what you want for yourself, it will be harder to take any steps at all along the path to finding a better job. It is very popular these days to talk about "manifesting your dreams, desires or destiny."Most of the "experts" in manifesting your dreams say that the more you can see, hear, feel, touch, and even taste your goal, the more powerfully you can direct your energy toward it.
The next step is finding an ally. Everyone can use some help getting to their destination. Seek advice from people you admire. This is very important. Lots of people get bogged down at this point because they share their hopes and dreams with friends or family members who have given up on their own dreams, or who feel generally pessimistic about life, or who don't want you to soar beyond them. You might have to withhold your thoughts from those people in your life and find new allies, ones who like to encourage boldness in others. Practical allies might include people working in the field (who actually like their job) and potential mentors-anyone who can help you move from dreaming to acting. The next step is, of course, to take action. Even the smallest act can kick-start a fundamental change in life. You might decide simply to quit your job! That extreme action will definitely propel you on a new course as you are forced to make big changes in order to find a new job. Not everyone is in the financial situation to take the big plunge, however. A more feasible action might be to make an appointment with an employment counsellor or register for a training program. It doesn't really matter what your first action is, as long as you take it. And then another. And another.
The next stage is learning how to deal with disappointments and seeing failures as part of the journey. It's about learning to see life like Dr. Sayer (Robin Williams) in the movie Awakenings: Dr. Sayer: It was an immense project. I was to extract one decagram of myelin from four tons of earthworms. Dr. Sullivan: Really! Dr. Sayer: Yes. I was on the project for five years. I was the only one who believed in it. Everyone else said it couldn't be done. Dr. Kaufman: It can't. Dr. Sayer: I know that now. I proved it.
Regardless of whether you achieve your ultimate dream or not, your life will surely be better for having dared to believe in yourself.
