We offer self-help resources for independent job seekers.
How can an employment counsellor help me?
An employment counsellor will outline available programs and services, and help you plan some next steps.
How long will it take me to reach my goals?
It depends on what you want to do, your current skills, and how much effort you are willing to invest.
If I’m interested in getting funding for training, what do I have to do?
Make an appointment with an employment counsellor to learn about your options.
Is every job available in Powell River posted on the Career Link website?
Postings on our website are provided by employers. Additional postings are available on our job board.
I want to find a job out of town. Can Career Link help me?
We have out-of-town job postings, directories, and computers for research. We also have a fax machine and telephone for contacting employers.
I just need a resume. What’s my next step?
We provide computers and resume samples to help you create your own resume. If you need assistance, just ask one of our staff.
How long can I use the computers at Career Link?
Our computers are available Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 4:30. Usage is dependent on how many people are waiting.
Do I have to pay for photocopies?
Job-related photocopying is free. We have a daily limit of six copies for resumes.
Can I use the computers for personal use?
The computers are for employment-related activities only.
