Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in general maintenance and handyman work
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects; perform physically demanding tasks
- Reliable transportation
- Certification in a related trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
- Previous experience in a hotel or resort setting
- This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and may involve exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents
- The Caretaker/Handyperson may need to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on property needs

Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep the resort property in exceptional condition
- Maintain plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Conduct regular inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Maintain the resort's landscaping, including lawn care, gardening, and outdoor furniture upkeep
- Minor repairs and renovations as needed (painting, carpentry, and tile work)
- Coordinate larger repair projects in collaboration with contractors
- Maintain records of all maintenance and repair activities
- Monitor property for security concerns; report any suspicious activities to management
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including fire safety, emergency procedures, and equipment maintenance
- Oversee the operation of the pay parking lot, when necessary
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
- Keep track of supplies and reorder as necessary
- Other duties as assigned to support the operations
