Duties and Responsibilities |
- We are looking for an energetic and fun-loving casual caregiver to join our non-profit organization and provide support to a young woman in her home and during her day program activities - You will be part of a team who is dedicated to ensure safety, well being, and quality of life for the client - The caregiver will be working closely with the live-in home share provider, the family, and the agency - The client uses a wheelchair and a walker, but with support, she is capable of transferring to and from bed and moving from the wheelchair to her car or the toilet - The client is non verbal, but has good understanding skills. She communicates with some signs, body language, a few words, and a communication device - You will attend and support the client in the following programs depending on your work schedule: - Music class - Swimming - Yoga class - Sign language class - Horseback riding - Community programs as they arise - Social outings with client's friends - Your duties will also include driving to and attending programs with the client, some food preparation, personal care, and light housekeeping duties |
Additional Details |
- Work schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (days to be determined) - Starting wage is $23 per hour during probation, with an incease of $25 per hour after a successful review - The Individualized Funding Resource Centre Society hires care support workers for clients in Powell River. Interviews are conducted virtually as the organization is based in Vancouver. |
