Career Makeover  

Two weeks of career and self-exploration in a dynamic group setting. Plan for success in today's changing job market while exploring careers that fit your interests and skills, and have a promising future.

       Topics include:

  • Learning styles
  • Training Program & Funding Research

Communicating @ Work

Fill your toolkit with the skills required in today's workplace: communication, self-confidence, stress management, and more! This five-day interactive workshop gives you the skills you need to shine.

Computer Basics

A twelve-hour course (spread over six lessons) for beginners and near beginners. Takes you from no experience with computers to being comfortable to sit at any computer and type up a document, format it, save it, and then retrieve it. At completion, you will be qualified to add "Basic Word Processing Skills" to your resume and be able to type your own cover letters, as well as make adjustment to your resume.

Internet

A 4.5-hour course (spread over 3 lessons) for beginners. Learn what the Internet is all about and how it can help you. Topics covered include:

  • Entering addresses and manoeuvring about within the site, as well as linking to external sites
  • Searching for information when no web address is available

E-mailing

A 1.5-hour session in which you will obtain a free e-mail address and then learn how to send and receive e-mails, as well as attach files to outgoing mail (great when applying for jobs and an employer requests that resume be e-mailed)

Prime Time

An upbeat, three-hour session for job seekers in their prime (45 years and up). Bring a brown bag lunch if you'd like. Topics include:

  • Making Experience Count
  • Handling Interview Challenges
  • The Fabulous Follow-up
  • Winning Cover Letters
  • Employment Proposals
  • M & M: Motivation & Morale & more
