The ideal candidates with have experience and qualifications in some of the following areas but all interested candidates are welcome to apply:
- Risk assessment and decision making
- Wilderness First Aid or similar and enjoy working with Children and Youth of all Nationalities
- Possess excellent leadership and mentorship skills in supervising Camp Leaders and a Class 4 driver's licence
- Academic focus on leadership, tourism, rec management, field science or education
- Kayaking, canoeing, SUP, sailing, rock climbing, hiking
- Strong practical and theoretical understanding of Outdoor, Sustainability, Environmental and Experiential learning, and exceptional organizational skills
- Admin work including use of MS Office and other computer skills

3- Candidates will be attending a post-secondary institution in the fall
To be eligible, students must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
- be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Duties and Responsibilities

Preparation and instruction of outdoor activities for various age groups and Nationalities
- Supervising and supporting Camp Leaders in daily functions and responsibility areas
- Assisting in leading 5- 9 day, residential field programs
- Monitoring the safety and well-being of all participants
- Preparation and organization of assigned program areas for which the Leaders becomes the activity head (determined in consultation with the Director)
- Ensuring proper use, storage, inventory and maintenance of all program resources and equipment
- Ensuring gold-standards in experiential learning

Additional Details

We are looking for two skilled and energetic people to join our innovative education team. The Coordinators will in partnership with Senior Management coordinate and manage other staff leaders in all aspects of delivery of residential field based outdoor programs for children and youth of all Nationalities at the Powell Lake Outdoor Learning Centre. The positions will run full time from mid to late June through end of August 2017.
